Product Demonstrator - Part time

Location:  Costco, Richmond Hill, ON

As a product demonstrator, you will provide customers in a grocery store setting with samples of bread and promote bread sales within the store. You will work closely with bakery department staff at the store to set up the demo table and products. You will greet customers and offer samples and answer questions on our bread products.

Qualifications: Excellent customer service skills and some retail and/or customer service experience are assets.

Hours: approximately 15 hours per week / weekend.

Salary: $10.75 per hour.

Food Production Manager

Job Description: Production Manager

 

Reports To: President

 

Scope of work:

The Production Manager works with the management team to improve safety, quality, cost, efficiency and waste reduction. The Production Manager is responsible for operations on one or more lines including scheduling employees & finding replacements to assure manpower coverage, assuring production target are met, monitoring all production activity & the training/coaching & discipline of production employees as required while maintaining a safe working environment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Production Efficiency:

Promote a focus on excellence in all activities including those required to support safe operation, optimal quality, improved reliability and productivity, loss reduction and cost improvement.

 

Staffing:

·         Supports & assists locations in H&S compliance; Instils a sense of urgency around H&S compliance & increases H&S awareness through involvement on committee; reports & investigates H&S issues immediately; Maintains a safe & secure work environment for all employees;

·         Maintains strong relationships with employees to minimize morale issues and grievances; Mediates labour issues & addresses non-productive behaviour through progressive discipline;

·         Builds a competent team by meeting with employees & communicating performance expectations, monitoring & appraising performance; coaching, training, disciplining & enforcing corporate policies & procedures;

·         Monitors employee satisfaction & is proactive in addressing issues that threaten productivity or morale;

·         Where applicable interviews & hires staff following approved human resources processes & policies;

·         Supervises employees on shift, including monitoring work, training & coaching in procedures & meting out discipline when required;

 

Production Scheduling:

·         Maintains employee shift schedules & arranges relief help in the event of accident, sickness, vacation or other absence, to assure the lines are properly & safely staffed;

·         Lead and coordinate manufacturing, maintenance, methods and logistics teams.

·         Ensure constant adjustment of resources to match sales commitments and needs.

·         Participate and liaison with related functional departments to achieve organizational objectives and goals.

 


 

Maintenance:

·         Maintains the line production schedule & arranges adjustments in production (including arranging alternate sources for product) in the event of a line breakdown;

·         Inspects operating machinery & equipment periodically (& specifically after repairs are made) to insure that is running safely & according to specifications;

·         Programs machines to ensure formulations meet specifications; resolves problems with product quality;

 

Data:

·         Tracks production performance, assuring GMP, quality & health & safety standards are being met;

·         Conducts spot checks on the dough, on oven temperatures, etc. to ensure operating standards being met;

·         Makes recommendations to upgrade/change equipment, e.g., pans, based on analysis of production data and trends;

·         Improves results (safety, quality, cost, waste reduction, efficiency, etc) using continuous improvement methodology;

 

·         Other duties as assigned.

Product Demonstrator - Montreal

Location:  Montreal, QC

As a product demonstrator, you will provide customers in a grocery store setting with samples of bread and promote bread sales within the store. You will work closely with bakery department staff at the store to set up the demo table and products. You will greet customers and offer samples and answer questions on our bread products. Locations of demos will vary.

Qualifications: Excellent customer service skills and some retail and/or customer service experience are assets. A valid G-class Driver's License with your own automobile (mileage reimbursement program).

Hours: approximately 15 hours per week. Weekend work only.

Salary: $10.75 per hour.
